Hello and Welcome! My name is Dani Gasparic and I am currently a sophomore at the University at Buffalo. I am studying Environmental Design with a minor in Architecture in the School of Architecture and Planning. After finishing up undergrad, I intend on completing the Master of Architecture graduate program at UB in order to become a licensed architect.

As an aspiring architect, I find myself wondering what the future will look like…literally. What will our nation’s cities look like? Will they be sustainable? How will an architect’s job differ from now? What will I be doing, along with my fellow architects to ensure sustainable cities?

Urban planners are essential to the functionality, safety and survival of our society. Without any infrastructure, how would we get around? Where would we live? Work? Learn?

This blog is going to take a deep dive into just how crucial it is for urban planners and architects to not only provide for and satisfy the needs of the public, but to innovate and plan for the future. Right now, environmental impacts are on the forefront of everyone’s mind, with scary statistics being thrown at us from all platforms. I’m interested in what research I can gather about this problem now, as well as how to implement a plan based on my findings in the future as an architect. The state of the world is in our hands, let’s combat these issues together, on a large scale.
